This list is not intended to show LAs the list of extended categories they should use for ethnic monitoring. This list is simply designed to show how possible local categories will map back to the new census 2001 categories.
LAs should use this list to ensure that their local categories are suitable for use with the 2001 census categories and that these local categories map back to the correct main census categories to ensure their local monitoring meets new national reporting requirements.
