Minority ethnic pupils in mainly white schools

Published in summer 2002, this DfES research was conducted by the University of Luton into the experiences of minority ethnic pupils in mainly white schools. Most existing research focuses on multi-ethnic schools in urban areas, this research looks at many of the issues that may affect "isolated" minority ethnic pupils in areas where only 4 to 6% of pupils were from minority ethnic backgrounds. A summary of the main findings can be found in the Research Brief (Word or PDF) and the full report can be found in the Research Report (Word or PDF). You can also find these documents on the DCSF Research Publications website: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/research/programmeofresearch/index.cfm?type=5
