Aiming High Conferences January and February 2005In January and February 2005 the DfES hosted a series of three conferences in Manchester, Birmingham and London. The purpose of these conferences was to share with stakeholders the range of work that has emerged following the Aiming High consultation of 2003 and to give an indication of the direction of future work. Robin Richardson was the keynote speaker at the London and Birmingham conferences and Dr Maud Blair delivered the keynote speech at the Manchester event.
Representatives from Multiverse, who facilitate the ITE Professional Resource Network (IPRN) in Diversity, also gave a presentation and demonstration of their website. The IPRN in Diversity is funded by the Teacher Training Agency to meet the challenge of supporting IT trainees and trainers in raising the achievement of pupils from diverse backgrounds. It has been developed for teacher educators, student teachers, trainees and agencies involved in education, although it is a useful resource for all teachers.
