The Ethnic Minority Attainment (EMA) Portal was launched on 22 May 2003. It has been developed by Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester Local Education Authorities with the help of the DfES to provide resources and support to enable every pupil to fulfil their potential. The teaching and learning resources focus on children and young people with English as an additional language and those from minority ethnic backgrounds.
