How can I use the Flash navigation within the areas of Learning and Development search?
On the main page you can select the stage, area of Learning and Development, and focus, by clicking on each of the hexagons. If your selections are valid, an image of the corresponding information will appear below the hexagons. Click on that image to see the information.
On any of the selected pages, you can change a parameter of your search by clicking on any of the hexagons. Note that the page will refresh as soon as you have made a selection.
On both the main page and the selected pages, the areas of Learning and Development are subdivided further, and you can access the subdivisions by clicking on the more link below the appropriate area of Learning and Development.
How accessible is the EYFS?
The EYFS meets the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) level 1 requirements for accessibility. It is written in XHTML with cascading style sheets, this enables you to control how the text is displayed, including controlling the size of text.
How do I make the on-screen text larger?
There is a command in your web browser that enables you to change the font size of this and most other HTML-based resources.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to: View > Text size
In Netscape and Mozilla Firefox, go to: View > Text zoom
How do I print pages?
You can print pages using the Print command in your web browser. There is usually a button on the top bar of the browser, or it can be found under the File menu.
If you choose 'Print Preview' you will see that there is a preset printer-friendly version of the page that will print the page’s body text, in black and white only.
Can I use my browser buttons such as Back, Favourites and Print?
Yes. For most of the pages in the EYFS, your browser buttons will work as usual.
If you are accessing the EYFS from a website, then you can bookmark pages as you can with other websites.
Do I need any plug-ins or viewers to use this website, and if so, where do I get them?
