For you to be able to plan the steps that might be needed to improve the speaking and listening in English classrooms, you will need first of all to collect and consider data and evidence for the current provision.

Data and evidence sources

Since your department will have its own areas of strength and others that need developing in teaching speaking and listening, a good starting point is to take a close look at the current provision. The main areas to help you are as follows:
