Behaviour improvement plan

Creating a good classroom atmosphere and managing pupils' behaviour so they can get the most from lessons from the start is one of the most difficult challenges all teachers face, particularly new teachers. More experienced colleagues can help by passing on knowledge of pupils and their experience. Management should support teachers and put in place effective management strategies to protect staff and prevent behaviour problems.

The DfES Behaviour Improvement Programme (BIP) website contains guidance and resources for developing and implementing behaviour improvement plans, as well as case studies and examples of good practice.
