Carrying out your own research
Last year, CWDC awarded grants to 40 practitioners working with children, young people and families in early years, social care and advisory and educational support (e.g. Connexions PAs, Learning Mentors and Educational Psychologists) to enable them to reflect on their experiences of being part of the children's workforce, and for children and young people to reflect on their experiences of receiving services. This year, we will be funding up to 100 practitioner-led research projects across the country. The advert (PDF 577 KB) gives some more detail, including how to get hold of an application form (from jmohammed@ararna.co.uk).
Key things to know are:
- the grants are for people who work directly with children, young people and families, or for groups of children and young people, supported by a worker
- we are looking for projects that will help CWDC, and others, understand better what it means to be part of the children's workforce
- you don't need any previous experience of doing research
- the deadline for returning applications is midday on 25 June 2007
