Question 2

What might using research for CPD look like - how do I get started?

Activity one

The first activity is very simple and is about engaging with research done by other people to find out how useful it can be, more than engaging in it.   It will only take thirty minutes of your time.

We invite you to:

  • visit the GTC's Research of the Month (RoM) website;
  • review the four most recent research summaries;
  • consider the site’s general relevance to staff in your school;
  • recommend particular research summaries or teacher case studies to interested staff; or
  • download relevant papers for circulation;  or
  • simply advertise the website and its benefits in your school.

If you are already making active use of the research of others or of the GTC research resources you may like to turn immediately to our second research activity.  This involves investigating your colleagues' CPD needs and priorities.
