Conference: 'Learning Places and Spaces - It's the people in places who make the difference'
The conference will be held in the Premier Suite at Reebok Stadium in Horwich, Bolton and will draw together a diverse gathering of teachers, young people and all those who support them.

This will be an exciting opportunity to celebrate and share innovative work being carried out both locally and nationally in the area of education and community research. The day will focus on keynotes and workshops centred on the following 4 themes:

  • Theme 1: Community Leadership
  • Theme 2: Contributions to Research (NTRP)
  • Theme 3: Inspirational Young Leaders
  • Theme 4: Making A Difference

The conference continues for a second day on 13th July and is entitled Independent Thinking's Big Day Out. For further information about both events and details of how to book please view the flyer (JPEG 334 KB).

Lessons from the frontline
Following the success of the NTRP 2006 National Conference, the DfES, the Innovation Unit and NTRP co-hosted an event on 19th January 2007 entitled 'Lessons from the frontline: What are good teachers and leaders doing to improve teaching and learning and pupil engagement in their schools?'

The purpose of the event was to enable education policy colleagues from the National Agencies to find out first hand the kinds of innovations teachers and leaders are doing to raise standards and improve pupils' life chances in schools.

10 key messages from across the research can be downloaded. You can also download summaries of the work presented and reflective activities based on this research.
