Structure and Content of Unit Plans
- The front page of each Unit Plan details the objectives covered, referencing the appropriate pages from the Supplements of Examples in the Framework. It also shows links to objectives recommended to deliver each lesson.
- Each unit provides guidance following the three-part daily mathematics lesson structure with objectives, vocabulary and resources where appropriate.
- Oral and mental starters can be free standing or linked to the main activity.
- Teachers will need to add to the oral and mental starters a variety of other questions relating to work from the previous couple of weeks and rehearsing aspects that teachers know children have not yet mastered.
- Key questions are highlighted to guide teaching, provide assessment, information and to structure the plenary.
- Each lesson provides a focused plenary with guiding outcomes referenced to the Supplements of Examples.
- Weekly homework is included in each Unit Plan.
