What is it?
These materials have been produced as part of the DCSF focus on raising the attainment of Black African and Black Caribbean children. They support schools in meeting the requirements of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 to provide equality of opportunity.
The aim is to raise standards and accelerate the progress of Black African and Black Caribbean children; to improve learning and teaching to meet their needs within a culture of professional dialogue and development. The materials aim to support school leaders in raising the confidence, skills and expertise of mainstream practitioners to better meet the needs of Black African and Black Caribbean children.
