What is it?
Parents and families play a key role in their children's learning. Their involvement has long been a strength of early years education, with practitioners working to establish effective partnerships. The focus of these materials is on key stage 1 and 2 to:
- ensure that schools understand the importance of continuing this partnership beyond foundation stage;
- build on the good practice already established and exemplified in previously published materials;
- provide information about current practice in learning and teaching which can be shared with parents.
The resources in this package comprise the following:
- a video which illustrates learning and teaching in an early years setting and a range of schools, with the aim of informing parents about current practice.
- a leaflet for parents and families.
- a Guidance for schools booklet.
