What is it?
QCA publishes annual reports on pupils' performance in the statutory tests at the end of key stages 1 and 2. The purpose of the report is to give schools and those involved in the training of teachers detailed information about the strengths and weakness in children's performance. Schools can use this information as a yardstick against which to compare their own children's performance.
As the introduction to the report makes clear, the text is based on extensive analyses of pupils' test scripts and carried out for QCA by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), QCA's Mathematics Test Development Agency (MTDT) and the University of Manchester (CFAS). The report provides a detailed commentary on pupils' performance in last year's tests and highlights implications for teaching and learning. Every school in England with children in Year 2 and Year 6has been sent a hard copy of this report.
Any enquiries about any of these reports should be directed in the first instance to the QCA Test Support Team on 020 7509 5530.
