What is it?
This training pack is designed to support schools in implementing the statutory guidance on inclusion contained in the National Curriculum 2000, particularly as it relates to the literacy hour. Many of the activities contain in this publication, however, illustrate teaching strategies that can be applied across the whole curriculum. It is a tool kit for teachers, which exemplifies a wide range of teaching strategies that enable the full participation of all learners in lessons.
This pack does not try to cover all impairments or types of needs. It uses examples of pupils with complex needs to illustrate teaching strategies that are applicable in many situations.
