Summary and context Whilst working with a Year 6 teacher on developing cross-curricular links with history we developed a unit based on historical recounts. The unit offered the opportunity to assess how well the children were able to write a recount using subject matter that interested and enthused the children.

Homework Extension task: Evaulate the effectiveness of three written recounts.

Focused task: Sequence a series of events in a recount and add appropriate connectives.
