Framework for teaching mathematics
Assessment, recording and reporting are important elements of teaching but they have to be manageable if the information they yield is to be useful to you, the pupils and others. Practice needs to be agreed across the school to ensure consistency and efficiency.
As with planning, it is best to think of assessment at three connected levels: short-term, medium-term and long-term. Your assessments can then inform your teaching plans at each level, in a continuous cycle of planning, teaching and assessment.
