Yearly teaching programmes, shown below, are taken from the relevant section of the Framework for teaching mathematics: Reception to Year 6. The numbers, in brackets, are page references to the relevant supplement of examples in the Framework which you can download by clicking on an icon in the 'Downloads' box on the leftof this page.

Organising and interpreting data (p.112-117)

  • Discuss the chance or likelihood of particular events. (p.113)

  • Solve a problem by representing and interpreting data in tables, charts, graphs and diagrams, including those generated by a computer, for example:
    bar line charts, vertical axis labelled in 2s, 5s, 10s, 20s or 100s, first where intermediate points have no meaning (e.g. scores on a dice rolled 50 times), then where they may have meaning (e.g. room temperature over time). (p.115,117)
