Behaviour and Attendance and SEAL

The Behaviour and Attendance programme is designed to develop teaching strategies which promote positive behaviour for learning, and enhance the quality of relationships between staff, children and other members of the school community. A major part of this programme is Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL): a comprehensive approach to promoting social and emotional skills.

Improving attendance and reducing persistent absence This focus area is intended to help schools gain the understanding and tools to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. The main text has relevant links to websites that contain information, advice guidance, policy and regulations.

Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) The Primary National Strategy is currently working with local authorities to implement SEAL which is a comprehensive approach to promoting social and emotional skills. Click on the link above to find out more about SEAL.
