Assessment summary

During this question and answer session it is clear, from the first three responses, that Charlotte is able to refer to texts and make comments which show some simple inference related to Charlie's feelings (AF3 L3 b2).

Some evidence of AF5 L3 can be seen in Charlotte's response to the question 'How does the writer of the story let us know Charlie doesn't want to wear the dress?' as she recognises - perhaps with some support from pictures in the text - that the writer uses speech to convey Charlie's feelings about the dress. Her response to the final question shows some basic understanding about the writer's possible purpose (AF6 L2 b1).
