Phonics overview

This document provides guidance on the key recommendations from the Independent review of the teaching of early reading (the Rose Report) and implications for teaching early reading. The overview is designed to help headteachers, literacy subject leaders and managers understand their key role in implementing the recommendations from the review, and offers practical guidance for practitioners and teachers on teaching high-quality phonic work.
