The Interactive Planning Tool uses the content of the Primary Framework. This is accessed via the Internet and is available through the first tab in the Interactive Planning Tool. Before you set about collecting content you should start a new plan or resume an existing plan.

You can start a new plan or resume an existing plan in one of the following ways:

Start a new plan from a template

• On the Welcome page click on the 'Browse' button
• Navigate to and select your planning template.
• When the planning template is loaded it is displayed in the Plan pane on the Interactive Planning Tool [second] tab.

Start a new plan from a blank document

• On the Welcome page click the 'New' button.
• A blank template is displayed in the Plan pane of on the Interactive Planning Tool [second] tab.

Resume work on an existing plan

• Select a plan one from the list of previously saved plans. These are listed under the heading 'Resume a previously saved plan.

Save your plan

Before continuing it is a good idea to save your plan. Click on the 'Save in planning tool only' icon (the one that looks like the planning tool icon - it is the third icon from the left), provide a name for your plan and confirm your actions when prompted. It is advisable to save your work in progress regularly.
