Teaching notes

This section contains the teaching notes to support Block A for each year of the year groups 1 to 6. These teaching notes provide examples of possible starters and main teaching activities. They do not provide full lesson outlines, but are intended to give support in setting pitch and expectations. The teaching notes need to be differentiated and adapted for the needs of each class.

The section also contains sets of questions for each year group to help identify pitch and expectation and to help with assessment as children progress across a year group and key stage. Many of the questions are reproduced with kind permission of the QCA.
