Year 1 Narrative - Unit 2 - Building assessment into teaching

Phase 1

Identify and talk about the effects of patterned language, repeated words, etc. (asking a range of questions in whole-class discussion).

Phases 2 and 4

Gain confidence in playing with language (teacher observation). Write one or more complete sentences based on an example of patterned language from reading (marking, self-assessment).

Phase 3

Take turns to talk within a group and listening to others (teacher observation, feedback from groups, self-assessment).
