Phase 2
Write a simple traditional story using a range of connectives to link ideas and build tension for the reader as part of shared, guided and independent writing (self-assessment, marking and feedback against agreed success criteria).
Phase 3
Understand that words, images and sounds can convey different elements of a narrative for a reader; write a traditional narrative using words, sounds and images to convey information about the main characters (teacher observation, paired response).
