The interactive planning tool is designed to support your use of the Primary Framework website. This tool enables you to plan electronically drawing on the framework materials, allowing you to manipulate the Primary Framework content to personalise the learning and teaching in your classroom.
Before you get started take some time to read the Troubleshooting and Help sections thoroughly. The Troubleshooting section has useful information for installing and configuring the planning tool while the Help section gives you guidance on how to use the planning tool.
With Version 2 of the planning tool, Word 2000 did not save all the content as expected. This issue has been addressed in Version 3 of the planning tool which is now available on the website.
Getting Started
To use the Planning Tool for the first time, you need to load the program onto your computer and configure it so that it connects to the Internet (See Configuring Proxy Settings below). You need do this only once: from then on, the tool will be available by clicking on the Planning Tool icon on your desktop.
In the first few weeks after deployment it is possible that user feedback will result in improvements to the tool, so it is worthwhile checking this page on occasions to see whether the tool has been updated.
When a new version is available you will need to reload it by following the instructions for your operating system by using the appropriate link below.

Configuring Proxy Settings
If the tool fails to load the Primary Framework website, it is probably because you are connected to the Internet via a proxy server. For advice on how to change the connection settings for the Interactive Planning Tool, click here.
Planning Templates
You can upload your individual school planning templates when using the interactive planning tool. However, National Strategy Planning Templates for short and medium term planning in Mathematics and Literacy have been provided for those who do not have a school template. You will be able to download the NS draft planning templates here.
Planning Tutorials
Two video tutorials, one each for Mathematics and Literacy, have been prepared to walk you through the Primary Framework content and in particular how to use it when planning. The video tutorials can be viewed online or downloaded to your computer to view at your leisure. To ensure the tutorials are accessible to all users Web versions have been prepared.
