In this unit pupils explore the different types of dance and focus specifically on developing their knowledge and understanding of composition. They develop their understanding of communicating the choreographic intention as performers and choreographers.
In dance as a whole, pupils think about how to use movement to explore and communicate ideas and issues, and their own feelings and thoughts. As they work, they develop an awareness of the historical and cultural origins of different dances.
This unit is expected to take 12-18 hours.
