This unit and other advanced PE units may be used alongside GCSE and Junior Sports Leader Award (JSLA) programmes, which lead to Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA), GNVQ or A level work. Other PE units will also involve increased opportunities for leadership skills within the subject and within coaching programmes run by the national governing bodies of sport.
Pupils will develop an increased understanding of skill development and training regimes, and they will have increased opportunities for independent work.
This unit supports work in music, art and design and English. It provides evidence for the assessment of the key skills of communication, IT, working with others and problem solving.
