- how to respond to situations that might be racist

- about the role of the law in protecting citizens from discriminatory behaviour
- how the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998 protect basic rights
- about the role of public bodies such as the Commission for Racial Equality

Section 4: How can we challenge racism and discrimination?
Children should learn:
- to consider the experiences of others who have been treated unfairly or in a discriminatory way
- to reflect on their learning and consider how to take responsible action in situations where racist or discriminatory actions may have taken place
