Section 1: What is Local Agenda 21?
Children should learn:
- about Agenda 21 and where it originated
- about local action plans for sustainable development (Local Agenda 21) and priorities set by the local authority
- to devise an enquiry into local priorities and plans for sustainable development
- about the ways in which the local authority consults young people on its policies

Section 2: How is our community more sustainable?
Children should learn:
- to devise a survey of use of products, services and resources to compare with the local authority's published priorities for sustainable development
- to carry out a survey, draw conclusions and present results
View related activities and outcomes
Section 3: What do we now know about local action and policies for sustainable development?
Children should learn:
- to reflect on what they have learnt and on the process of enquiry
- how to share their findings with the school, local community and local authority
- how they could influence future policy
- how the school community could participate in, and contribute to, future Local Agenda 21 priorities
