Citizenship at key stage 4

QCA

Guide for senior managers

This leaflet is the same as the one issued with the scheme of work for citizenship at key stage 3.

This leaflet is designed to help senior managers and governors of schools to implement citizenship as a new national curriculum subject. It describes how the QCA/DCSF schemes of work for citizenship can support the school's citizenship provision by building on what is already being done.

The leaflet details what citizenship is and how it can help the school in broader ways. It covers what needs to be done to introduce this new national curriculum subject, and how the schemes of work can contribute to its implementation. The leaflet also contains a table with details of other useful information and where to find it, as well as advice about planning a whole-school approach to citizenship.
