The Secondary mathematics planning toolkit comprises two planning handbooks, one for each key stage, and a CD-ROM containing an extensive range of supporting resources:
- guidance papers and other resources to support planning priorities
- adaptable planning templates for curriculum maps, teaching calendars, unit plans, teaching and learning reviews and key process maps
- curriculum information from the Framework, including website links, current supplement of examples and KS4 objectives in different formats
- a suggested file structure for an electronic scheme of work, including unit plans and associated resources
- ideas for rich tasks and an extensive compilation of National Strategies resources to support unit planning
- pedagogy and subject knowledge, including an extensive compilation of National Strategies resources.
The resources described above are on a CD-ROM which is available for distribution through Subject Leader Development Meetings from summer 2008. These meetings are run termly in each local authority (LA) and details can be obtained from your LA mathematics consultant.
