Network version

Alert: ensure that your version of the planning tool is v4.10 or above. The version number is displayed on the Welcome page of the planning tool. To update the planning tool follow the instructions below. 

Network user: Please contact your system administrator as they will need to install the planning tool onto your shared network; you will not have the permissions needed to do this.

System administrator: The network version is compatible with Windows operating systems only. Please read the installation instructions carefully and refer to the detailed instructions (for Windows only) if you require more information. Detailed instructions (231.11 KB)

  1. Download the network version v4.10: EXE (18MB). If you are prevented from downloading the EXE then download the ZIP file (ZIP (18MB)) and extract the setup.exe file.
  2. Create a folder on the shared drive for the planning tool application and another folder for the users’ data.
  3. Save the setup.exe file to your computer’s hard drive.
  4. Double-click the setup.exe file and choose ‘Run’ if prompted.
  5. Tick the ‘Network’ box and click ’Next>’.
  6. Enter the path to the ‘Destination Folder’ on the shared drive when the installation screen is presented and click ’Install’.
  7. When the installation is complete the configuration utility is presented.
  8. Change the ‘User Data Directory’ to the user data folder set up on the shared drive.
  9. Enter the proxy settings for accessing the internet if required and tick ‘Use proxy for updates’, otherwise leave blank.
  10. The system administrator provides the users with a desktop shortcut linking to the IPT.exe file in the ‘bin’ folder on the shared drive and login details and instructions.
  11. When users double-click on the shortcut provided the application will be launched.
  12. Users should contact their system administrator if an error ‘Problem loading page’ is displayed on the first tab in the planning tool.

Note: Please be patient the first time you run the application as it takes a few minutes to start up. After the initial installation the planning tool will start up quickly.

Login to the network version

When users open the network version of the planning tool they are presented with a login screen.

  1. Create a username and password.
  2. Click ‘Go’.
  3. If the username has not been used before, the username and password are saved. The user uses this username and password to access their clippings and saved plans.

Note: if a user logs in for the first time and the username and password combination is not accepted then the username has been used by another user. The user will need to choose a different username.
