Mathematics subject leader development folder - Summer 2008

The summer term 2008 SLDM was devoted to a whole-day launch of The Framework for secondary mathematics and The Secondary Mathematics Planning Toolkit. In this meeting subject leaders received the Key Stage 3 planning handbook to guide them on how to use of the Framework and toolkit to support short and long term plans for developing their schemes of work. Together, these resources enable a subject leader to support changes to planning, teaching and learning, so that the aims of the new programme of study are met and progress through the key stage is improved for all pupils. 

The toolkit comprises an extensive collection of resources collected into folders on a CD-ROM. The accompanying handbooks introduce the toolkit through a sequence of 'bite-sized' tasks addressing the heart of the planning process and supporting the phased implantation of the new curriculum.

A copy of the disk can be obtained from the local authority mathematics consultant. It consists of the following folders:
