Targeting level 4 in Year 7 mathematics

The first set of lessons available to support the Year 7 Intervention Strategy form a single publication including nine 'Number' and 'Algebra' units, six 'Shape, space and measure' and 'Handling data' units, and twelve 'Consolidation' lessons. Downloadable files containing all the lessons appear below in the order in which they appear in the publication.

The plans for the lessons are organised in units corresponding to the intervention plan. Each lesson supports about 40 minutes of direct teaching, and refers to a selection of pupil activities including some drawn from Springboard 7 to complete the remaining time and to provide homework. The lessons make use of ICT where appropriate. The lessons also refer to the Framework for teaching mathematics: Years 7, 8 and 9, and their style is similar to that in the Year 9 booster kit for mathematics, DCSF 0015/2002, with which many teachers will be familiar.
