Using Big Books

Background

Paula Casey, Key Stage 3 literacy coordinator at Hebden Green Community School in Cheshire, describes how their school used the Big Books, and how they benefited the pupils’ learning experience.

Hebden Green Community School is a day/residential school for pupils aged 2-19 years with physical disabilities. There are currently 111 pupils on roll. The school motto is “Where progress matters”.
