This approach was developed to support teachers who wanted to improve pupils' descriptions of action in fiction. Many pupils find weaving action into their stories very difficult to do while also maintaining clarity and the reader's interest. Consequently, one school developed an approach that uses still images to slow the action down, allowing pupils to focus on shifting narrative perspective and sequencing. Pupils then use this knowledge to plan and write their own action sequences. |
