Year 9 Booster practice in English

About the school

Garth Hill School is a comprehensive school in Bracknell in Berkshire. There are 1,150 pupils on roll. Sixty-eight percent of the pupils attained level 5+. The school was awarded Technology College Status in July 2002.

How we selected the pupils

Pupils were selected based on several sources of information:

  • CATs scores
  • English Department test results
  • Teacher assessment and recommendation.

Pupils were invited by letter and parents attended a joint English/ Maths evening presentation during which they all tried starters activities. In total, 33 pupils took part.
