Using sample teaching units

About the school

Priestnall School in Stockport is a large mixed 11-16 comprehensive with 1362 students on roll. The school is located in Stockport LEA, an authority in Greater Manchester. The school is currently aiming for Specialist College status in Mathematics and Computing.

The school has been reviewing the provision of ICT for some time. From 2002 we increased the teaching time of discrete ICT for all students to 1 sixty minute period per week; this was an increase from 1 period per fortnight. The Curriculum Leader for ICT attends the KS3 strand forums and this training is used with the department as well as the specific ICT training that is detailed later.
