Special Schools Networks

About the LEA

Sheila Greaves, literacy consultant at Cheshire LEA, describes how she organised three different types of network meetings, what these meetings achieved and how it benefited the teachers and pupils in the long run.

Cheshire LEA has 14 special schools with the full range of needs. Five of these schools were Pilot schools. There was no specific roll out of the literacy strand of the Strategy to special schools as the LEA had already brought them together to share good practice under the Pilot 'umbrella'.
