Year 8 mentoring
Background
The Deputy Head of Lower School describes how Danum School Technology College has utilised funding to provide mentoring sessions for a small group of Year 8 students.
Danum School Technology College is a maintained 11-form entry non-selective urban comprehensive school with over 1900 pupils including 410 in the sixth form. The school is housed on two sites with 1km separation and all Key Stage 3 pupils are based on one site. Staff travel, pupils do not.
The school's mission statement is Motivate Support Challenge. Danum has been successful on three consecutive occasions in its application for the Charter Mark award.
