Improving transition: a model of effective consultancy
This model will help schools plan a transition unit of work on teaching Shakespeare. The eight days of consultant support focus on building an effective bridge between the experiences pupils have in Year 6 and the curriculum in Year 7. The emphasis is on supporting teachers to develop interactive teaching approaches through structured drama.
This support will build the capacity of feeder and receiver schools to improve the progression and continuity between the key stages and ensure there is appropriate challenge for Year 7 pupils.
