About The Secondary National Strategy, KS4
Recognising that the Strategy was already influencing teaching and learning beyond Key Stage 3, in 2005 the DfES requested that successful Key Stage 3 strategy approaches to teaching and learning should be extended into Key Stage 4.
The objectives are to:
- strengthen teaching and learning in Key Stage 4
- raise attainment in Key Stage 4, in particular accelerating the improvement of students predicted D but capable of C at GCSE
- tackle disaffection and motivation in Key Stage 4
- maximise teaching time in Key Stage 4
- extend consultancy and networks into Key Stage 4.
