Local Authority Invovement in Study Support (out of school hours learning)
Local Authorities (LAs) play an important part in delivering study support provision in their areas by offering training to teachers and other staff involved in delivering the activities.  They also provide a support network by linking up schools with specific needs or at different stages of development; and they also handle practical difficulties such as staffing and transport.  Many LAs employ a Study Support Coordinator to do this.  Some LAs also set up and run their own study support activities.
