Bright Sparks: A Good Practice Guide

This book provides guidance on setting up a Bright Sparks Club.  It includes a step-by-step planning section as well as suggestions for practical classroom activities, extension activities, and work children can do at home with their families.  Bright Sparks is an out-of-hours study support initiative which brings together young people in the last year of primary school with those who have just transferred to Year 7 in the secondary school.  It aims to support Year 6 pupils during the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3, to help them cope with the demands of the new environment.
