Step 5 Taking action and reviewing progress

Step 5

Stage 5 - involves the school in taking action, reviewing success, and getting a position to be able to review the cycle again.

Taking action will involve identifying tasks which may themselves be 'process targets', such as improving accomodation or intergration opportunities.  These will contribute to the school's ability to meet its performance targets.  It is important to put in place effective strategies to monitor and evaluate gains in pupils' performance as the new teaching practices take effect to ensure that the school is on course for the target.  If it is not, practice will need modifying.
